Southampton Fast Twitch Triathlon
Southampton Fast Twitch is a pool-based sprint triathlon held at Applemore Leisure Centre on the edge of the New Forest National Park. The swim takes place in an indoor pool and the bike route travels through parts of the New Forest toward the village of Beaulieu, passing varied scenery such as open heathland and woodlands where riders may encounter roaming livestock. The run finishes by heading toward Dibden Purlieu, up Challenger Way and along Roman Road.
Distances:
- 400 m swim (16 lengths of an indoor pool)
- 21 km bike through the New Forest toward Beaulieu
- 5 km run finishing via Challenger Way and Roman Road
The event is organised by Challenging Events Ltd and is presented as an early-season sprint suitable for both first-time and experienced triathletes. Volunteers support event operations in roles such as car parking, registration, course marshalling, and water stations. Volunteers receive a high visibility vest and a free entry code as a thank you.
