Southampton Fast Twitch
Southampton Fast Twitch is a pool-based sprint triathlon held on 18 April 2027 at Applemore Leisure Centre in Dibden, Southampton, Hampshire. The event is located on the edge of the New Forest National Park and uses an indoor pool for the swim.
Distances for the event are:
- 400 m swim (16 lengths of an inside pool)
- 21 km bike
- 5 km run
The bike course heads out towards the historic village of Beaulieu through the New Forest National Park, where athletes may encounter roaming livestock such as New Forest ponies, cows, donkeys and pigs. The park offers varied scenery from open heathland to woodland.
The run approaches the village of Dibden Purlieu, continues up Challenger Way and finishes along Roman Road. The event is scheduled early in the triathlon season and attracts both first-time and experienced triathletes.
Standard entry is listed at £57. Volunteer marshals receive a high visibility vest and a complimentary entry code in thanks; typical volunteer duties include car parking, registration support, course marshalling and running water stops.
