Southampton Fast Twitch Triathlon
The Southampton Fast Twitch is a pool-based sprint triathlon held at the Applemore Leisure Centre in Dibden, Hampshire. Situated on the edge of the New Forest National Park, this early-season event consists of a swim, a bike leg, and a run. The event is open to participants aged 15 and over.
The triathlon includes the following distances:
- 400m indoor pool swim (16 lengths)
- 21km bike ride
- 5km run
The bike course travels through the New Forest National Park toward the village of Beaulieu. This route features a mix of open heathland and woodlands where participants may encounter roaming livestock such as New Forest ponies, cows, donkeys, and pigs. Following the cycling stage, the run course heads toward the village of Dibden Purlieu. Participants follow a route that includes Challenger Way and finishes with a sprint along Roman Road.
Facilities at the Applemore Leisure Centre include free parking for participants, with gates opening shortly before the morning registration.
