Phoenix Running - South Wales Hug, Marry, RUN
Phoenix Running South Wales stages a timed, lap-based event on Saturday 14 February 2026 at the Rock UK Summit Centre, The Old Drift Mine, Trelewis, Merthyr Tydfil, using routes through Parc Taf Bargoed.
Participants choose how many laps of a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out-and-back course to complete within a seven hour time limit. The minimum distance is one lap (3.28 miles). The course is multi-terrain, mostly on tarmac paths with about 0.5 miles on riverside trail, and an overall elevation gain of 37 m. The park is described as a Green Flag site shaped by the area's industrial past and redevelopment.

Runners and walkers are welcome. The event offers a bespoke finishers medal for medal entries and a lower cost no medal entry option from £20; affiliated entry is listed at £33 and unaffiliated at £35.
