Event Overview
The Hospice of the Valleys Damian Williams Race is a running event held in scenic Parc Bryn Bach, Tredegar. It is organised by Hospice of the Valleys with support from Parc Bryn Bach Running Club. The event honours a gentleman from the local and running community.
Two race distances are offered:
- A senior 10k race for participants aged 17 and over.
- A junior 2k run for children aged 4 to 16.
For the junior run, children aged 4 to 7 are advised to run with a responsible adult aged 18 or over. One accompanying adult per child enters free of charge.
Registration & Fees
Registration opens at 7:45 AM. The event has tiered pricing for both races.
Senior 10k Race Fees:
- Early Bird (January 1 – February 15, 2026): £12.00 (Affiliated) / £14.00 (Non-Affiliated)
- Standard (February 16 – April 5, 2026): £14.00 (Affiliated) / £16.00 (Non-Affiliated)
- On the Day (April 12, 2026): £16.00 (Affiliated) / £18.00 (Non-Affiliated)
Junior 2k Run Fees:
- Early Bird (January 1 – February 15, 2026): £5.00
- Standard (February 16 – April 5, 2026): £6.00
- On the Day (April 12, 2026): £7.00
A commemorative 2026 t-shirt is available for purchase during registration, with orders closing on March 18, 2026.
Participant Perks
All senior participants receive a free Hospice-branded buff, water, and a snack. All junior participants receive a free finisher's medal, water, and a snack.
The event is a fundraiser for Hospice of the Valleys. Participants who raise a minimum of £64.52 are entered into a prize draw. Senior winners receive a gift voucher, and junior winners receive Parc Bryn Bach Activity Day vouchers.
Important Notes
The race operates under a Welsh Athletics race licence. Due to this licence and associated insurance, runners with buggies or pushed wheelchairs are not permitted to enter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
