Event Overview
The Hospice of the Valleys Damian Williams 10k Race and 2k Junior Run is an outdoor running event held at Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar. Organized with support from the Parc Bryn Bach Running Club, the race commemorates a member of the local running community. The courses are set within the grounds of the park, utilizing the natural landscape of the venue.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 10 km Senior Race (for participants aged 17 and over)
- 2 km Junior Run (for participants aged 4-16)
Participation Details
The senior race is open to runners of various experience levels, including those transitioning from social running or community park runs. For the junior event, children aged 4-7 must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or older. One accompanying adult may join the junior participant free of charge.
The race is licensed under Welsh Athletics. Due to governing body insurance regulations and race safety requirements regarding assisted running, the use of buggies or pushed wheelchairs is not permitted on the course.
Participant Amenities
Registered senior runners receive a technical buff, water, and a snack. Junior participants receive a finisher's medal, water, and a snack. Event t-shirts are available as an optional add-on during the registration process, provided they are ordered by the specified deadline in March.
