Stanbury Splash takes place on 18 January 2026 at Penistone Hill Country Park, near Haworth, Keighley (grid ref 025 364). The senior race is a fell event, category BM, of 12 km with about 400 m of climb. Minimum age is 18. The race is part of the Woodentops Race Series with Withins Skyline and The Stoop and uses chip timing for the series. Entry fees are listed as £9 for pre-entry and £10 for entry on the day; a three-race series entry option is offered. Teams of three are permitted.
Course, logistics and facilities
The single-lap, hilly course circuits upper Ponden Clough and Stanbury Moor and includes several stream/beck crossings, muddy sections and a mix of tracks and narrow footpaths. There is a 45-minute cut-off at the start of the Ponden Kirk/Ponden beck loop; runners asked to miss the loop if they arrive after the cut-off. Facilities at race HQ (Old Cricket Hut, Penistone Hill) include toilets only; there are no water stations, distance markers, changing rooms, showers or baggage store. All entrants receive a Soreen malt loaf bar and full-size loaves are included among prizes; prize giving is outdoors at the cricket hut.
