Socks & Undie 5K Rundie : Wake County
The Socks & Undie 5K Rundie is an annual community 5K and Kids Fun Run organized by Note in the Pocket to support its work providing clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families. The 14th annual Wake County event is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, 2027, and will use a new location and route for 2027.
Event options include 5K timed and non-timed entries, a Kids Fun Run for participants age 10 and younger, and a Virtual Rundie that offers participants a race t-shirt and eligibility for virtual prizes. Corporate team and group "Rundie Team" entries are available.
Awards are given to the top three timed finishers by male and female categories across age brackets: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and older. Additional contests run alongside the race include largest team, largest fundraiser, best team name, and a "How many 5k’s away?" challenge.
Organizers have offered a 10-week Couch to 5K training guide geared to new runners and have previously partnered with the Falcon Medical Rescue Team to provide on-site first aid support.
