Sock Out Cancer 5K and Fun Run
This event in Stonewall, LA benefits pediatric patients who receive care through the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic in Shreveport, a partnership between St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Ochsner LSU Health Feist Weiler Cancer Center. Proceeds are designated to fund non medical support for families using the clinic, including birthday celebrations during treatment, No Mo Chemo Parties, meals and snacks, comfort items for the clinic, gas cards, and hotel expenses.
The event program includes a 5K run, a short kids run for ages 12 and under, and a Sleep In Supporter option. The Sleep In Supporter option includes a shirt available during packet pick up at Run Wild and does not require attendance on race day. The first $8,000 raised will support ancillary needs at the local clinic; additional funds will benefit St. Jude Miracles on the Red, Shreveport’s annual fundraising event that honors local patient families and raises support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Registration fees are listed for each event and there are no refunds for this race. The event schedule also includes awards and a worship concert following awards.
