Heroes and Villains Half Marathon - Bossier City
Presented by Bigfoot Running Company at Walker Place Park, this event offers multiple race distances on local park and greenbelt trails. Surfaces are mostly paved with some crushed granite and dirt; aid stations are provided along the courses. Events proceed regardless of typical weather conditions.
Races offered:
- Kids Dash - 50 meters (Ages 10 and under)
- 1 Mile Fun Run - untimed, all ages
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed
- Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles, chip timed
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, chip timed
- Volunteer Then Run - 5K with volunteer duties
- Virtual Half Marathon - run remotely
All finishers in every distance receive a medal and a race shirt. Standard awards for chip-timed events include a Bigfoot Trophy for 1st overall male and female, a masters recognition pin (40+), and top-three pins in each age group. Age groups range from 10 and under through 70 plus.
Additional elements on race day include a costume contest with prizes such as a $25 gift card, a free future race entry, and a themed prize pack; a live DJ; post-race awards and results; and snacks and refreshments at the finish area.
Volunteer roles are available, including water stations, course monitors, finish line helpers, packet pickup, lead bike, mascot, and a sweeper role. Some volunteer positions include race benefits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
