Talk Pirate to Me 5K/10K/Half Marathon - Shreveport
This event on September 12, 2026 takes place at Walker Place Park and uses a pirate theme to mark International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Participants may choose from these distance options:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend on site. All in-person races are chip timed. Finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Awards are given for the top three male and top three female finishers in traditional five-year age groups for each distance.
Course information notes water stations placed approximately every 1.5 miles. Half marathon entrants must maintain at least a 16 minute per mile pace to complete the event. A course map is listed as coming soon.
Registration follows tiered pricing with regular, late, and race day fees and a deadline of September 2 to guarantee race shirts for participants who select shirt options. Registrations are final; there are no refunds, deferments, or transfers. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine, and in the case of a federal or state health emergency related to COVID‑19 the event will move to a fully virtual format and shirts will be mailed to participants.
