SoBo Series
The SoBo Series takes place on the beachfront promenade at Southbourne, located to the east of Bournemouth. The event features a course with views along the coast, consisting of a flat, tarmacked surface. This route has no elevation gain or loss, providing a level running surface for participants.
The event is held on a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) "out and back" lap. Participants have the flexibility to choose their own distance on the day, with options ranging from:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra-marathon
The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers, and it is recognized as a road marathon for 100 Marathon Club purposes.
An aid station with a selection of sweet and savoury items is located at the start and finish of each lap. Participants must bring their own cups as plastic cups are not provided. Facilities including public toilets and showers are available along the promenade. There is also a designated area for runners to leave their personal items. Race numbers are collected at the registration area on the day of the event. All participants who complete at least one lap receive a medal for their finish.
