Event Overview
The So Long to Summer 5K/10K is a run/walk held in September in Parker, Colorado. The event is part of the Parker Parks and Recreation Run Series and is professionally timed.
Distances and Course
Participants can choose between a 5K or a 10K race. The course is an out-and-back route starting from Salisbury Park, located at 11920 Motsenbocker Rd.
Registration and Costs
Standard registration costs are $40 for the 5K and $50 for the 10K. A 10% discount is available for groups of four or more registered in the same transaction. Registration costs increase on a specified date in September, and event-day registration is available for an additional $5 if space permits. Space is limited.
Participant Perks
Registered participants receive a race shirt, a custom bib, a post-race pancake breakfast from Flippin' Flapjacks, and a beverage (for participants 21+) from Two22 Brew. A finisher medal is an optional add-on during registration. Early registration is recommended to guarantee shirt size and a finisher medal.
Awards
Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K. The top three male and female finishers in each age division (12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) for both distances also receive medals.
Additional Activities
A free Kids' Dash for children 8 and under is held after the race; no registration is necessary.
Event Policies
The event is held regardless of weather, and refunds are not issued. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome but must stay on the right side of the trail. Parking is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
