The Snowbird Challenge
The Snowbird Challenge takes place at Riverwest Preserve in Greenville, SC, on a paved 2.62 mile loop that winds through a 240 acre nature preserve that was formerly a golf course. The course includes rolling cart paths, wooden bridges, waterfalls, and riverfront views, and runners pass the start/finish, the aid station, and drop bags every lap.

- Reindeer Relay twelve 2.62 mile laps split across teams
Laps are released at 45 minute intervals and each lap must be completed within 45 minutes. The Reindeer Relay splits the twelve laps among team members with maximum laps per runner set by team size: two person teams up to six laps each, three person teams up to four laps each, four person teams up to three laps each. Parking is on the open driving range grass field and a $5 special use permit fee applies for facility entry.
There is one aid station at the start/finish with water, Tailwind, Coke, ginger ale, and snacks such as pickles, cookies, chips, and Little Debbie items. Facilities at the start/finish include three portable toilets. All finishers receive a medal. Chip timing with live results, custom bibs, event photos, and awards for overall and age group placings are provided. The event is part of the Upstate Giving Series supporting 30 local nonprofits.
