Course, format and logistics
The course is a paved 2.62-mile loop on the former golf course at Riverwest Preserve (240 acres). Features noted on the route include rolling cart paths, wooden bridges, waterfalls and riverfront views. The Athlete Village is located between the start and finish lines; participants may bring a 10x10 canopy, cooler and chair. Parking is approximately 150 meters from the event area.
Racing is lap-based on the 2.62-mile loop. Each loop must be completed within 45 minutes or the participant will be disqualified. Lap starts are signaled by a kettlebell sound; runners must wait until the full 45-minute lap period before beginning the next lap. Relay teams may include 2 to 4 people, with limits on maximum laps per runner by team size. An aid station at the start/finish provides snacks and drinks (no disposable cups provided). Awards include overall trophies and age-group medals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
