Format, aid and rules
The event is lap-based. Each loop must be completed within 45 minutes; participants who do not meet the 45-minute lap time are subject to disqualification. After finishing a lap, runners must wait until the full 45-minute lap interval before starting the next lap; typical rest intervals are described as 20 minutes (if a lap is finished in 25 minutes) or 5 minutes (if a lap is finished in 40 minutes). The route is primarily on sidewalks and paved paths with some trail sections.
An aid station at the start/finish provides snacks (pickles, cookies, chips, Little Debbie items) and drinks (water, Tailwind, Coke, ginger ale). No disposable cups are provided. Relay rules limit one runner per team on course at a time and set maximum laps per runner by team size. Awards include top overall trophies and age-group medals; age groups range from 0–9 up to 80+. Registration policies allow transfers and distance changes; club and referral discounts are available and refunds are generally not offered. Volunteer shifts of three hours can earn a free entry to Upstate Race Series-owned events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
