Snowbird Challenge (50k · Half Marathon · 5 Miler · Relay)
The Snowbird Challenge takes place at Riverwest Preserve in Greenville, SC. The event uses a paved 2.62 mile loop on the former golf course within the 240 acre preserve. The course includes rolling cart paths, wooden bridges, waterfalls, and riverfront views. Park entry for participants is included with registration.
Distances and formats
- 50K (lap format on a 2.62 mile loop)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5 Miler
- Reindeer Relay (12 laps of 2.62 miles, teams of 2–4)
Included with registration are a custom race bib, finisher medal, temporary race tattoo, event giveaways, a race sticker, and complimentary race photos. The first 100 participants will receive custom race socks. An aid station at the start/finish provides snacks such as pickles, cookies, chips, and Little Debbie items, plus drinks including water, Tailwind, Coke, and ginger ale; no cups are provided.
Lap rules require completion of each loop within 45 minutes to remain in the race. After finishing a lap, runners must wait until the full 45 minute lap interval has elapsed before starting the next lap; shorter finish times create longer rest intervals. Relay team rules limit the number of laps per runner according to team size. Overall and age group awards are planned, and volunteer shifts of three hours earn entry to an Upstate Race Series owned event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
