Snowbird Challenge : Riverwest Preserve, Greenville
The Snowbird Challenge is a lap-based running event held at Riverwest Preserve in Greenville, SC on January 23, 2027. The course is a paved loop of about 2.62 miles that uses former golf-course cart paths and includes shade, wooden bridges, riverfront views, and waterfalls. Registration covers park entry; a $5 special use permit fee is collected during registration to gain entry to the facilities.
Participants choose from solo or relay formats. Solo runners may complete any number of laps up to a 50K distance; milestone distances noted by the organizer include:

- 26.2 Miles
- 31 Miles
- 50K
Relay teams are 2 to 4 people; only one team member may run at a time and consecutive laps by the same runner are allowed. Per-runner lap limits depend on team size: two-person teams allow up to six laps per runner, three-person teams up to four laps, and four-person teams up to three laps.
Lap structure and services: each lap must be completed within 45 minutes; runners start laps on a fixed loop schedule. A staffed aid station at the start/finish offers water, Tailwind, Coke, ginger ale and snacks (no on-course aid stations). Runners should bring a personal cup. Packet pickup requires the runner in person 60 minutes before the first lap. Event amenities include a staffed “Tent City” gear area, portable toilets, race bib and timing tag, race photos, music, post-race gathering, a finisher medal, temporary race tattoo and event giveaways.
Awards include trophies for top three overall male and female finishers and age-group medals; top age-group finishers also earn points toward the Upstate Road Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
