AMH Anchorage Cup Kincaid Classic & Wooden Ski

The AMH Anchorage Cup Kincaid Classic & Wooden Ski is scheduled for January 24, 2027. The event combines traditional classic ski races with a wooden ski race and other short-distance formats. The program includes a long and an intermediate classic distance, a 5k freestyle tied to a "cup within a cup" series, and a short wooden ski race that encourages period clothing and wooden ski equipment.

Special features for the day include a morning pine tar waxing clinic offered by the Sons of Norway and a hand made limited-edition wooden ski medal awarded to wooden ski competitors. A best dressed contest will recognize traditional Scandinavian clothing such as wool trousers and knit sweaters. A post-race gathering will serve rice porridge followed by a brief awards ceremony.

Race operations emphasize safety. Races will be canceled when weather or trail conditions pose a safety risk, and the Race Director will decide on race acceptability no later than the morning of the event. Registration fees are not refundable if a race is canceled.

Fees vary by category: youth 11 and under are free, students age 12 to 24 pay $20, NSAA member adults 25 and older pay $30, and nonmembers age 12 and older pay $50. NSAA member adults who register by December 7 for all five races receive a $25 registration discount. The day of sponsor is Sons of Norway.
