Course and logistics
Both courses are described as scenic and rolling through farmland and along Catoctin Creek. Parts of the route run on a gravel road and cross historic one-lane wooden deck bridges. The 5K is all on paved surfaces, crosses one wooden deck bridge twice, and has roughly half the elevation change of the 10K. Early packet pickup is scheduled at Charm City Run in Frederick on the Wednesday before the race, April 15, 2026, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Race day bib pickup closes sharply and vehicular access to the park closes at that time; no late starts are permitted. Race day on-site registration must be completed via a personal smartphone; no cash or check transactions are accepted. Running strollers are allowed, and the wearing of headphones or earbuds is strongly discouraged due to open roads with possible vehicular traffic.
A race shirt is included for registrants who register before April 1, 2026; registrations on or after that date are not guaranteed a shirt. Overall top three male and female finishers in each race receive awards, and the top three in each five-year age group receive custom glass awards. Registrants may purchase event insurance during registration and may initiate a partial refund up to 30 days before the event; after that, no individual refunds or transfers.
