Sleigh Me Ultras
Sleigh Me Ultras is a multi day running event held at the Shortsville Reindeer Farm in Shortsville, New York. The course consists of a one mile loop on grass and trail terrain. The path is characterized by very little elevation change and features some roots but no steep climbs. Participants can choose between several duration based events:
- 48 Hour Ultra
- 24 Hour Ultra
- 12 Hour Ultra
- 6 Hour Ultra
The event utilizes a flexible start system where runners for the 24, 12, and 6 hour races may begin their selected distance at the top of any hour during the weekend. The course loop passes by reindeer, chickens, and honey bees. A central aid station is located in a barn and provides water, electrolyte drinks, coffee, and a variety of food including chips, pretzels, candy, quesadillas, and ramen. Specific meals are served at designated times, such as personal pizzas at noon on Saturday and a pasta or taco bar on Sunday.
Participants have access to the barn for shelter in case of rain and may set up personal aid stations or tents along the course. Vehicles are parked nearby and remain accessible throughout the run. Electricity is available for charging devices, and potable water is accessible via a hose, though there are no dedicated shower facilities. Loops are recorded by hand on a board, and final results are documented in a spreadsheet format. Proceeds from the event benefit ROCovery Fitness. Pets are not permitted on the premises.
