Devil's Shadow Winter Trail Races

Devil's Shadow Winter Trail Races is a winter trail event on February 6, 2027, held at Mendon Ponds Park with race headquarters at Hopkins Point Lodge. The event follows a looped trail course used for a 50k, a 25k, and a shorter 5 Mile option. The loop is approximately 5.1 miles, starts and finishes at Hopkins Point Lodge, and avoids most larger hills and road crossings. The race day course may be changed for trail or weather conditions.

Hopkins Point Lodge serves as race headquarters and the primary aid station. Volunteers at the lodge provide refreshments and basic aid as runners complete each loop, including hot apple cider, hydration options, electrolyte drinks, energy gels, veggie broth, pierogi, quesadillas, candy, fresh fruit, pickles, salty snacks, soup, bread, beer, hot chocolate, tea, and coffee.

The event is the third race in the Common Ground Winter Trail Series, organized by FarFetched Enterprises, Goose Adventure Racing, and Doody Runs. Series registration provides access to bonuses such as free entry into one series event, series swag, and entry into a random draw for membership in the FarFetched Mug Club.

Registration for any distance carries a $30 fee plus UltraSignup processing fees. Same-day registration is available. New for 2027 is ice cream at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
