The Sleeping Bear Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K are set in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and finish in Empire, MI. Races are held during peak fall color season on a tree-lined course.

The marathon is an out-and-back route that passes the Dune Climb, Little Glen Lake, and the village of Glen Arbor, with views of the Manitou Islands and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The half marathon follows the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail and includes notable hills and scenic stretches. The 5K is a short out-and-back that finishes on the shores of Empire Beach.
Included with entry are an official unisex lightweight tri-blend hoodie and a custom finisher medal. Post-race refreshments and snacks are provided, including a complimentary Shorts beer for participants aged 21 and older and a non-alcoholic Shorts Hop Water option. Race Day Events provides professional race timing. Free digital race photos are supplied by Focal Flame Photography, and participant tracking is available via RaceJoy.
