Event Overview
The Blueberry Dash 5K is hosted by Benzie Senior Resources, a nonprofit organization. The event takes place in Frankfort, Michigan, on August 1, 2026.
Course Details
The course is a 5K out-and-back route that begins and ends near the pavilion in Bellows Park. It uses South Shore Drive E., which runs along the shoreline of Crystal Lake. The roadway is described as a low-traffic, residential road with an enforced speed limit of 25 mph; it will not be closed to traffic during the race. Law enforcement will monitor speed, and a courtesy car will move continually through the route. The turnaround point is marked on the course. Professional timing is provided by Aldrich Timing.
Registration and Logistics
Online registration costs $35 and closes on the Friday before the race. Processing fees for online registration are covered by the organization. Tee shirts are available for the first 200 registrants. In-person registration and packet/t-shirt pickup are available at The Gathering Place Senior Center in Honor, Michigan, on the Friday before the race. On race day, registration and packet pickup are available at Bellows Park.
The event is family-friendly, welcoming strollers and mobility devices. Children up to age 17 may accompany parents or guardians at no charge. For those who do not wish to be timed, there is an option to walk or run any length of the route between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Age-level certificates for men and women are available for pickup until 1 p.m. on race day or will be mailed afterward.
Parking and Post-Race
Parking is available away from the start line in Bellows Park and along non-private property on Bellows Ave., S Shore Drive E, and Thomas Road. Parking is limited, and participants are encouraged to ride-share or use drop-off/pickup services. After the run, refreshments and fellowship are offered in the Bellows Park pavilion.
