About the race
The Slate Trail Ultra, organized by APEX Running, is a challenging trail running event set in the scenic Snowdonia region of Wales. It offers two main distances: a 145km (90mi) ultra with 3,900m+ elevation gain and an 88km (55mi) Ultra Tour of the Quarries with 2,700m+ elevation gain. The course follows the historic Slate Trail, showcasing the area's rich quarrying heritage and rugged landscapes.
Runners experience a demanding yet rewarding journey with multiple aid stations and drop bag support. The event is known for its epic atmosphere, combining natural beauty with a test of endurance, and it awards UTMB points to participants.
