Caernarfon Half Marathon

The Caernarfon Half Marathon takes place in Caernarfon and starts and finishes next to Caernarfon Castle. The route includes a few small uphill sections and some longer fast downhill sections.

All finishers receive a technical T shirt and a bespoke medal. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third overall in male and female categories and for first in each age category. Numbers and timing chips are collected at race headquarters on race day.

Drink stations are provided at about every three miles and again at the finish. Toilets are available as portaloos near the start and finish and there are public toilets on the road below. First aid cover is provided by a professional medical team, with stations at the start, finish and on the course. Runners should complete the medical history on the back of their race number to assist the medical team.

There will be some road closures but not all roads are closed to traffic; runners should follow marshal instructions and keep on the left unless told otherwise. Parking is available in public car parks in the town; access to those car parks is not affected by the road closures.

Headphones are not permitted in line with UK Athletics rules except for bone conducting devices. Runners should avoid discarding litter outside water stations or away from marshals; deliberate littering may lead to disqualification. A baggage area is provided but valuables should not be left unattended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
