Event overview
The Caernarfon Half Marathon takes place in Caernarfon on 6th September 2026. The race is a Half Marathon that starts and finishes next to Caernarfon Castle. The course is described as scenic with a few small ups and some long fast downhill sections. All finishers receive a technical T-shirt and a bespoke medal. Prizes are awarded for Male and Female 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall and for 1st in each age category.
Race logistics and safety
Race numbers and timing chips are collected at Race HQ. Parking is available in the town public car parks; competitors are asked not to park next to the start/finish area. Drink stations are provided at about every 3 miles and at the finish; runners may bring their own bottles if they need more water. Toilets are provided as portaloo units near the start/finish and there are additional public toilets nearby. First aid cover is provided by a professional medical team with stations at the start, finish and on course; runners should complete medical history information on their race number. Some road closures will be in place but not all roads are closed to traffic; marshals will give instructions and runners should keep left unless told otherwise. Headphones are not permitted except bone-conducting types. Littering outside water stations or away from marshals can lead to disqualification.
