Caernarfon Half Marathon : 6 September 2026
The Caernarfon Half Marathon is a road race that starts and finishes next to Caernarfon Castle. The course includes a few small uphill sections and some long, fast downhill stretches. The event distance is a half marathon.
Race headquarters and enquiries are located in front of the castle and numbers and timing chips are collected there. Participants are advised to use the town's public car parks; parking is not allowed next to the start and finish area.
There will be drink stations at approximately every three miles and at the finish. Toilets are provided as portaloos near the start and finish, with additional public toilets below that area. First aid cover is provided by a professional medical team, with stations at the start, finish and on course. Runners should complete medical history information on the back of their race number.
Finishers receive a technical T shirt and a bespoke medal. Prizes are awarded to male and female 1st to 3rd overall and to 1st in each age category. A baggage area is available for small bags but valuables are not the organiser's responsibility. Merchandise, including preordered hoodies and race day items, is available at the event.
Headphones are not allowed except for bone conducting models in line with UK Athletics rules. Some roads will remain open to traffic; runners must keep left and follow marshal instructions. Runners are asked to leave litter at water stations or with marshals. The event offers a charity entry route with St David’s Hospice subject to minimum sponsorship.
