Yr Wyddfa Snowdon Ultra 100 : Event details

The Yr Wyddfa Snowdon Ultra 100 is a 102-mile self-navigation ultra held in Snowdonia Eryri National Park on Saturday 5th September 2026. The race has 250 places, a race entry fee of £209 and an overall time limit of 42 hours. Live online GPS tracking is provided via GB Race Tracker. Participants must meet qualifying criteria: be at least 20 years old at race day and have prior ultramarathon and mountain experience. Competent map reading is required and runners must not be solely reliant on GPS devices.

Course, support and rules

The route starts and finishes at Cae Llan/Village Green, Station Road, Betws-y-Coed, and includes 11 checkpoints along the course. Checkpoints provide refreshments, vegetarian and vegan options, hot food at indoor locations, and medical or first responder cover. There are strictly enforced cut-off times at each checkpoint and participants must check in at all checkpoints. Dropbags are allowed to two checkpoints (CP6 and CP10) with size limits. A single pacer is permitted from Checkpoint 6; pacers must be self-sufficient and carry mandatory kit. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and may be checked; required items include hardcopy maps, waterproof coat and trousers, compass, two long-sleeve base layers, 1 litre water capacity, charged mobile in waterproof bag, survival/thermal bag, headtorch (min 75 lumens), backup light (min 25 lumens), emergency rations (min 500 calories), whistle, GPS tracker and warm clothing.
