Yr Wyddfa Ultra 100
Yr Wyddfa Ultra 100 is a 102 mile self-navigation ultramarathon through Snowdonia Eryri National Park on Saturday 5 September 2026. The course has approximately 5,172 m of elevation, 11 checkpoints along the route, and a total event cut-off of 42 hours. Entry is limited to 150 places and the entry fee is £209.
The route leaves and finishes at Betws-y-Coed Village Green and passes along the Snowdonia Slate Trail, through Nant Gwynant Valley and past locations such as Llyn Dinas and Llyn Gwynant. Live online GPS tracking is provided via GB Race Tracker. Checkpoints offer refreshments including hot food at indoor stops, vegetarian and vegan options, and medical or first responder cover. Checkpoint check-ins are mandatory and strictly enforced with individual cut-off times.
Qualifying criteria require entrants to be at least 20 years old, in good health, able to self-navigate with map and compass, and to have previously completed an organised 50 mile ultramarathon in mountainous terrain. Pacers are permitted from Checkpoint 6 under specific rules. Dropbags are available for CP6 and CP10 and must not exceed 50 litres.
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and is subject to random checks; required items include OS maps for the area, a baseplate compass, waterproof coat and trousers, headtorch (min 75 lumens) plus a backup light (min 25 lumens), a minimum 1 litre water container, survival/bivi bag, emergency rations (min 500 calories), whistle and a provided GPS tracker.
