The Yr Wyddfa Snowdon Ultra is a long-distance mountain ultra in Snowdonia Eryri. The course is described as an event of around 100 miles with total elevation gain of 5,172 m. Course, support and entry requirements
The route includes 11 checkpoints with refreshments at each location and medical cover or first responders available at checkpoints. Checkpoints offer hot food at indoor venues and vegetarian and vegan options. Live online GPS tracking is used and the event is classed as self-navigation; runners must be competent map readers and must not be solely reliant on personal GPS devices.
Entry requires participants to be at least 20 years old and to have previous ultramarathon experience of 50 miles or more plus mountain experience. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and is subject to random checks. Required items include a hardcopy OS map, waterproof coat and trousers, compass, headtorch (min 75 lumens), backup light (min 25 lumens), survival/thermal bag, emergency rations (min 500 calories), whistle, water container (min 1 litre) and a fully charged mobile phone. A GB Race Tracker GPS tracker is provided at registration. Pacers are permitted from Checkpoint 6; only one pacer at a time and the pacer must carry the mandatory kit.
