Skyline 50K Endurance Run
Skyline 50K is a long-distance trail event that takes place in the East Bay Regional Parks and starts and finishes at Lake Chabot Marina in Castro Valley, California. The 2026 edition is scheduled for August 2, 2026. The course is a large loop that reaches Skyline Gate and returns to Chabot Marina.
Organizers present the race as one of the oldest continuously run 50k races in the United States. The event also offers a half marathon that uses a looped format starting and finishing at Lake Chabot Marina.
The race is noted for substantial on-course support. Aid stations are staffed by several Bay Area running groups, and a volunteer safety patrol provides direction and assistance at key intersections. Training runs are free and self-supported; updates are shared through the Scena Strava Club.
The finish area features plant-based food and beer and the race is described as a plant-based event. Families are welcome. All runners receive a race shirt, Skyline socks, and a finishers medal. Awards are given to overall winners and three deep by age group. The event is part of the P-USATF Grand Prix and is listed as a UTMB Index event.
Registration is open for the race. Refund and deferral policies note no refunds in general, with deferrals allowed outside 30 days and no deferrals within 30 days of race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
