Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk
The Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk is an annual community event focused on supporting mental health treatment programs. Held at the J. Rex Fuqua Campus for Adolescents in Atlanta, Georgia, the event serves as a fundraiser to help remove financial barriers for families seeking services for depression and anxiety. This event is open to the public, though individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants can choose between two primary formats:
- 3.1 Miles: A chip-timed course through the local area.
- 3.1 Miles (Virtual): A remote option allowing participants to complete the distance at a location of their choice.
The in-person race is recognized as an official qualifier for the 2027 AJC Peachtree Road Race. For safety and organization, participants using strollers or wagons are required to start at the back of the group. The venue is a nicotine-free campus where smoking and vaping are prohibited. Additionally, pets are not permitted on the course, with the exception of service animals.
Water is provided on-site, but participants are encouraged to bring personal water bottles. In the case of extreme or hazardous weather, the event may be delayed or canceled. Registration is available online in advance or as a walk-up option on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
