Skye Santa Dash & Dawdle 2026
The Skye Santa Dash & Dawdle takes place on Saturday 5th December 2026 in Portree with a start and finish at Somerled Square. The main route is a fully marshalled 1.75 miles loop through the centre of Portree and is described as suitable for runners, walkers, strollers, wheelchairs and all ages.
The event includes a Tinsel Toddler Dash for little children aged under 3 around Somerled Square and a Santa Paws Parade for dogs on a short lead with a prize for best-dressed pooch. Little elves under 8 must be accompanied by a grown-up Santa or Elf.
Every participant receives a Santa hat band and a finishers medal. There are costume prizes for best individual and team outfits. Festive refreshments such as hot chocolate and sausage rolls are available at the finish area. Organisers provide limited stock of Santa suits and festive T-shirts for participants, and registration is available online.
The event also raises funds for Columba 1400, an organisation based in Staffin that supports young people including those from Portree High School. Organisers seek volunteer marshals to help along the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
