Skye Santa Dash & Dawdle 2025
The Skye Santa Dash & Dawdle is a festive community fun run in Portree on Saturday 6 December 2025. The event starts and finishes at Somerled Square and uses a fully marshalled 1.75 mile loop through the town. The route is described as suitable for runners, walkers, strollers and wheelchairs, and the event welcomes participants of all ages.
Participants receive a free festive hat band and a finishers medal. There are costume prizes for best individual and team outfits, and a Santa Paws parade with a prize for best-dressed dog. A free Tinsel Toddler Dash is held in Somerled Square for very young children, and children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
Food and drink are available at the finish, with hot chocolate and sausage rolls mentioned. Registration is handled online and there are optional Santa suits or festive T-shirts available while stocks last. The event raises funds for Columba 1400, an organisation based in Staffin that supports young people including pupils from Portree High School.
