Staffin Triathlon & 10K - Staffin, Isle of Skye
The Staffin Triathlon & 10K takes place in Staffin village on the Isle of Skye and includes triathlon distances and a separate 10 kilometre road run. The event uses open water in Staffin Bay for swim legs with full water safety cover comprising two motorized safety boats and five kayakers. Water temperature is reported around 12.5°C and wetsuits are mandatory for swim participants.
Transition areas are split with T1 at An Corran Slipway and T2 at Staffin Community Hall, approximately 2.5 km apart. The swim course is anti-clockwise with inflatable buoys and exits into transition. The Sprint cycle is about 19.2 km and the run leg for that distance is 5 km on a closed road out-and-back. The 10k is an out-and-back along Garros Road with marshalled road crossings.
