Skye Half Marathon
The Skye event in June 2027 includes a chip timed half marathon and a 10K held on closed roads around Portree on the Isle of Skye. The half marathon is a 13.1 mile loop that starts and finishes in Portree and follows a single-track scenic route through the island countryside, often running alongside the River Snizort. The course begins with a gradual climb from Portree, includes a downhill section, and returns to a shared finish area in Portree.
Distances
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles loop on closed roads
- 10K chip timed, starts at the 11 km point of the half marathon
- Fun Run and Toddler Dash also take place
The 10K is limited to 240 runners aged 16 and over and uses courtesy buses to reach its start. All race entries receive a finisher's medal, event giveaways, electronic timing, and free downloadable photos. Water stations are provided along the course. Age group prizes are awarded and a non-binary registration category is available; non-binary first place prizes are awarded, though non-binary results are not included in overall rankings.
The event lists several local charities as beneficiaries and includes sustainability measures such as lift sharing and options to contribute to tree planting. The Isle of Skye is accessible via a toll free bridge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
