Skye Half Marathon

The Skye Half Marathon is scheduled for Saturday 12 June 2027 on the Isle of Skye. The main race is a 13.1 mile loop on closed roads that starts and finishes in Portree. The event also includes a chip timed 10K and community fun runs.

The half marathon route starts with a gradual climb from Portree, followed by a downhill section and scenic single track stretches through the island countryside. Parts of the route run alongside the River Snizort. The 10K begins partway along the half marathon course on a dedicated single track closed road; courtesy buses transport 10K runners to their start.

Participants receive a finisher's package that includes a commemorative medal, event giveaways, electronic timing and free downloadable race photos. Water stations are provided along the course. Age group prizes are awarded. Runners can register in female, male or non binary categories; prizes are offered for non binary placements, though non binary results are not currently included in overall ranking.

The event supports local charities: the Skye & Lochalsh Citizens Advice Bureau, Skye and Lochalsh Mental Health Association, and Skye Cancer Care.
