Race Dunvegan

Race Dunvegan is a mixed terrain running event hosted within the private grounds of Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye. All races start in the castle grounds and run through estate woodlands with sections on varied surfaces and some partially open public roads.

• Walking 5k
• Fun Run (short woodland course)

This event is non chip timed; marshals record times manually and results are uploaded to Webscorer. The 10k minimum age is 15, the 5k minimum age is 11, and the Fun Run is for children aged 5 and over with children aged 8 and under required to be accompanied by an entered adult. Dogs are permitted only on the Walking 5k and must be kept on a lead with one dog per owner.

Practical information includes on site registration at McLouds Tables Cafe, parking in the Dunvegan Castle car park, a prize giving in the cafe, a medical emergency response team located in the main car park, and marshals positioned along the route. There is a water station at the 5k mark for 10k runners and water at the finish. Changing rooms, lockers, and showers are not available. Headphones are prohibited on route for safety.

The event applies sustainability measures such as avoiding single use plastic, offering compostable cups at the finish, optional pre ordered race t shirts, and a tree planting initiative. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
