Skunk Ape Night Run
Skunk Ape Night Run is a trail race held at Green Swamp - West Tract near Dade City, FL. The event offers a single distance of 30K and is organized by Skunk Ape Events. The course crosses pasture lanes, dirt roads, single track on the Florida Trail, sandy sections, fire berms, creek crossings, and some hills.
Aid stations are placed approximately every 3 to 5 miles and are stocked with soda, snacks, chips, pickles, gummy candies, powdered electrolytes, band-aids, and women hygiene products in a plastic box. One drop bag zone is available at the Berm Aid Station; drop bags must be labeled and will be returned to the start after that aid station packs up. Course marking uses reflective tape with pink flagging and turn signs that include corrective information.
Finishers receive a choice of pint glass, whiskey glass, orange juice glass, mug, or cup; there are no age-group awards or event shirts included with the finisher awards. Awards are given to the top four men and top four women overall. A post-race potluck is part of the event for an additional fee and encourages a shared meal among participants and volunteers. Camping is available in the Green Swamp with a free reservation required. The event follows ATRA safety and marking standards and aligns with ITRA and IAU guidelines. The race is part of the Skunk Ape Trail Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
