Skull Krusher 50k
The Skull Krusher 50k is a 50-kilometer trail run that takes place on trails in the Cave Creek and Tonto National Forest, leading up to Skull Mesa. The course has roughly 5,000+ feet of elevation gain and loss. It is described as a mostly self-supported event.
There is one fully stocked aid station at mile 22. The primary water sources on course are creeks along Trail 4. Participants are expected to carry all their own water, food, hydration, and necessary gear, such as a water filter, from the start or after the aid station.
The course is noted for its long, self-sufficient segments on a fairly difficult and rocky trail with scenic desert views. The course will only be marked at critical junctions, and GPX coordinates will be available for upload to a watch or smartphone.
The race starts and finishes at the Bronco Trailhead, where there is free parking. The event will be held rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
