Event overview
Prickly Pedal is a multi-distance mountain bike and trail running event held in Maricopa County, Arizona, finishing at Lake Pleasant Regional Park in Peoria. The event includes mountain bike point-to-point courses on the Maricopa Trail and a 10 mile out-and-back trail run that starts and finishes at the 10 Lane Boat Ramp at Lake Pleasant. Proceeds support the Maricopa Trail & Park Foundation.

10 Mile trail run course
The 10 mile trail run follows an out-and-back route from the boat ramp onto Frogs Tank trail, down Beardsley trail, onto Wild Burro and Pipeline Canyon, turning around at Pipeline Cove and retracing to the finish. The course lists a total elevation gain of 883 feet and a maximum elevation of 1,880 feet.
Aid stations and logistics
The trail run has one on-course aid station with water, electrolyte drinks, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. The main aid station at the finish offers the same items and an egg breakfast. Crews are allowed at the start/finish only; pacers are not permitted. A drop-bag area is provided at the start/finish. Spectator parking at Lake Pleasant carries a park entry fee; racers parking at the finish may have the fee waived with the appropriate pass.
