Skirt the Skeith 12km - Dalry
Skirt the Skeith is a community road race held in Dalry, North Ayrshire on 21 June 2026. The event is organised by the Community Development Hub and supported by Dalry Sports Club and Garnock Valley Runners. This is the event's fifth anniversary and entry is limited to 200 runners; entrants must be aged 17 or over on the day.
The race distance is 12 km. The route starts and finishes at Dalry Public Park and runs up Blair Road, around Auchenskeith, along the walls of the Blair House Estate and back to the park. The course is hilly and uses some narrow roads; walkers and dogs are not permitted. A water station is provided at 7 km at the entrance to the Blair Estate; participants are advised to carry their own water as conditions may be warm.
The road will not be closed during the race. The route will be marked and marshalls will be positioned at road crossings and key points. A sweeper and safety car with a first aider onboard will follow the field, and a first aider will be based in the park. Timing chips are attached to race bibs and the start will be staggered with runners placed by estimated finishing time; final positions are determined by chip time.
Facilities in the park include limited toilets and a non-lockable drop bag area. Cash prizes and spot prizes will be awarded and all finishers receive a T shirt and a medal; a vegan post-race option is available.
