Kilmaurs Gala 5k Fun Run
The Kilmaurs Gala presents the 18th annual 5 km fun run on 29 July 2026 in Morton Park, Kilmaurs (KA3 2RB). Entry is limited to 300 participants with a waiting list in place if the limit is reached. Entries are taken online only and no entries will be accepted on the day; participants should be prepared to show photo ID at registration to avoid number transfers.
The course starts and finishes on the running track in Morton Park. The first 1.5 km lie within the park, then the route follows Kilmarnock Road into the surrounding countryside. The highest point is at about 3.5 km, after which the route descends back to the track for the finish. The course is marked with kilometre markers and marshals, and there are water stations at the start and finish. Electronic timing is used and competitors collect a timing chip and race number at registration. All finishers receive a medal.
The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is a Scottish Athletics licensed event. There is a range of individual and team prizes across age and veteran categories, plus course record prizes. Childrens races take place on the track before the main event, are free to enter on the night, and award medals with no minimum age. The organisers note that dogs and pushchairs are not permitted, the course is unsuitable for wheelchairs, and earphones that restrict hearing are not allowed.
Registration, changing and toilet facilities are available at Morton Park with a secure baggage area. Limited on-field car parking is provided on grass and additional nearby car parks and on-street parking are within short walking distance.
