Kilmaurs Gala 5K Fun Run : 29 July 2026
The Kilmaurs Gala 5k Fun Run is the 18th annual 5 kilometre race held in Morton Park, Kilmaurs (KA3 2RB). The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is a scottishathletics licensed event. The run starts and finishes on the running track in Morton Park; the first 1.5 km remain inside the park before the route heads onto Kilmarnock Road and surrounding countryside. The highest point is near the 3.5 km mark, with a downhill return to the track for the finish.
Entry is limited to a maximum number of participants and a waiting list operates when places are full. Entries must be made online in advance; no entries are taken on the day. Electronic timing is used and competitors collect a timing chip and race number at registration. All finishers receive a medal and a range of individual and team prizes are awarded across age categories, including junior and youth prizes. The course is signed with kilometre markers, marshalled for safety, and has water available at the start and finish.
Registration takes place at Morton Park with limited changing, toilets, and a secure baggage area. Children's races on the track take place before the 5k; these are free on the night and all participants receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
