Skinny Raven Oktoberfest offers in-person and virtual 5K and 10K run/walk options staged from the 49th State Brewing facility and The Rail tasting room in the Ship Creek area. The event uses area roads and bike paths on a mostly flat course and finishes near the Depot Drive area.

Course details: the start is on Depot Drive. Runners follow 1st Avenue, Cordova Street, and Ship Creek Avenue to Post Road, then down the ramp to the Ship Creek Trail. The 5K follows the Ship Creek Trail west to near the Wingate hotel, crosses a dirt parking area, and returns via Cordova, 1st Avenue, and Depot Drive. The 10K continues out-and-back on the Ship Creek Trail to William Tyson Elementary School before returning the same way.
Support and logistics: both courses have an aid station at about mile 1.5; the 10K passes that aid station again near mile 4.6 and has an additional station at the turnaround. Start waves place faster runners first, with a relaxed walker wave three minutes later; participants have five minutes to cross the start line. Event parking requires a short walk from lots; Depot Drive and the Alaska Railroad Depot lot are not accessible for event parking.
Additional notes: registration is open for 2026 with tiered pricing, event swag includes a unisex long sleeve cotton-poly shirt and a $10 voucher, and the event raises funds for Covenant House Alaska with an organizer match up to $500. Virtual participants may request mailed packets; out-of-state shipping to the lower 48 or Hawaii carries a $5 fee.
