Skidaway Island Half Marathon & 5k : Feb 28, 2026, Savannah, GA
The event offers two race distances:
- Half marathon
- 5k
It is set on Skidaway Island at 10 Ocean Science Circle / Skidaway Island Ocean Institute in Savannah, GA. The half field is described as about 800 runners and the 5k about 200 runners. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at the Howe 2 Run store.
Course and logistics
The half marathon course is US Track and Field certified; the 5k is not certified. The route is almost entirely paved and generally flat, with marsh and riverfront views, homes and golf course areas. The course runs partly inside a gated association; the first 2.5 miles and last 2.5 miles are open to the public. Aid stations are placed approximately every 2 miles, with Gatorade offered at two stations.
Timing is provided by MyLaps chip timing with online results. Finishers receive a medal, a technical race shirt, and free photo downloads. Parking is free near the start/finish at the Skidaway Island Ocean Institute. Pets are not allowed; strollers and headphones are allowed. RaceJoy mobile tracking is available for live GPS progress and cheers. Time limits are a 4 hour maximum for the half and 1 hour 15 minutes for the 5k.
