Skidaway Island Half Marathon and 5k : Savannah, GA
The event on February 28, 2026 offers two race distances:
- Half marathon
- 5k
The courses run on Skidaway Island in Savannah and start and finish near the Skidaway Island Ocean Institute. The half marathon is US Track and Field certified and can be used as a qualifying time; the 5k is not certified. The route is mostly paved and generally flat, with marsh and riverfront views, elegant homes and sections that pass Landings golf courses. Parts of the course are inside a gated association; the first 2.5 miles and last 2.5 miles are open to the public.
Organizers plan marked routes, volunteers or police at major intersections where traffic control is required, and aid stations every 2 miles with Gatorade provided at two locations. Timing uses a chip system with instant online results. Finishers receive a finisher medal, a race shirt and free photo downloads; the event also offers continuous awards for age groups and a finish line treat from River Street Sweets.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at a local running store. Parking is provided near the start and finish. Pets are not allowed on the course; strollers and headphones are permitted with appropriate caution on the open sections. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
