Bronze Dragonfly 30 Hour Ultra
The Bronze Dragonfly is an ultrarunning event held at Lake Mayer in Savannah, GA, organized by Run 4 a Reason LLC, Rough Runners. The event raises funds to support local mental health services and to help people who lack access to care.
Racers run repeated laps of a 1.4 mile USATF certified loop that is half paved and half rubberized track surface. The event is chip timed. Race options include:
- 30 hours
- 24 hours
- 12 hour Day
- 12 hour Night
- 6 hour (Sunday)
- 3 hour
Every participant who completes at least one lap receives a finisher medal. Runners who cover more than 100 miles receive a buckle, with a different buckle awarded for completing 100 miles in under 24 hours. Pacers are not permitted for the 3, 6, or 12 hour events; pacers are allowed for the 24 and 30 hour events only during designated overnight periods. Crew food can be purchased through the event store; a menu is distributed about two weeks before the event and organizers will try to accommodate common diets, though those highly sensitive to cross contamination are advised to bring their own food.
There are no bib transfers. The event provides a memorial connection to a local bronze running statue and highlights the lake’s dragonflies as a symbol of change and hope. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
