Sister's Trek Pen y Fan
Sister's Trek Pen y Fan is a sisters only charity trek to the summit of Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons National Park, organised by Islamic Help. The route features moderate to challenging terrain, including steep ascents and uneven ground, and the full route is expected to take approximately 5 to 6 hours to complete. The event is scheduled for Saturday 24 October 2026.
The event is open to females only; participants aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No prior mountain experience is required, but participants should ensure they are physically fit and adequately prepared for a mountain hike. Recommended kit includes a small backpack, packed lunch, plenty of water, waterproof and weather appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear with ankle support, and any required personal medication.
Registrations include coach transport from a Birmingham meeting point at Islamic Help Office Car Park, 17-21 Ombersley Road, Birmingham B12 8UR, and there is transport available from East London Mosque for London participants with a separate ticket price. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £150 for Islamic Help; the organiser may cancel places for those who do not meet this fundraising requirement. Entry fees are non refundable.
