Roman Run - Brecon
The Roman Run is a single-day road/trail event based in Brecon with the finish at Cyfarthfa Castle, Merthyr Tydfil. The course distance is approximately 16.37 miles with about 2,015 feet of climb. The event is organised as a charity run with all proceeds going to the Mayor of Merthyr Charity Appeal.
Race facilities include pre-race registration with race numbers that have timing chips affixed, baggage tagging and a baggage bus to transport bags from the start to the finish, and a finisher memento T-shirt to be collected at the finish. Race numbers are assigned after online entry closes on 28 August 2026; size selections for T-shirts cannot be changed after 31 July 2026 and transferred entries retain the original entrant's chosen size. Five water stations are provided along the route. A lead bike will accompany runners until seven miles from the finish and a tail-end runner will cover the whole route. First aid support is available and the event is Welsh Athletics licensed.
Entry terms include no refunds and no deferrals; entries may be transferred up to 28 August 2026. The minimum age to compete is 18. Earphones and similar devices are not permitted except for genuine hearing impairment. Results will be published online later on race day.
