Parc Bryn Bach Aquathlon Series
The Parc Bryn Bach Aquathlon Series is a midweek set of aquathlon races that combines open water swimming and running. The series aims to provide fast, flat racing and an introduction to open water and multi-discipline events in a local, friendly setting. It is organised as a training-focused race series for use as race practice.
The series comprises four events held on Thursdays between May and August. The 2026 race dates listed are 28 May, 18 June, 30 July and 27 August. Events take place at Parc Bryn Bach, Merthyr Road, Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, NP22 3AY.
Entry and race rules include a minimum entry age of 15 years old before the 31st of December, and anyone under 18 must have parental consent. There is no minimum ability required to enter, but organisers advise participants to be confident swimming 750 m in cold open water. Wetsuits are mandatory. Relay teams and swim only entries are accepted on the night only; relay competitors must complete an entry form and may incur an additional licence fee if the second athlete is not a BTF member. Swimmers only and relay swimmers will be provided with a different coloured hat at registration. If an athlete does not finish, they are asked to report to the registration desk before leaving the site so organisers can be informed.
