Chapel Bogathlon
The Chapel Bogathlon takes place on Saturday 29 August 2026 during the August Bank Holiday. It is a mini sprint triathlon held across a bog field that combines water, mud and cross country terrain.
The race comprises three sequential legs:
- 60 yard bog swim (snorkelling not required)
- 2 mile cross country cycle
- 1 mile cross country run to finish
Competitors start at three minute intervals. Water and mud are expected to feature in all elements of the course. Spectators can watch friends, family and fellow competitors as they move around the bog field.
Entry is £15. Prizes are awarded by age category, gender and for fancy dress. After a first edition in 2023, organisers plan to welcome new and returning competitors to this mini muddy event.
The event is sponsored by Chapel, a restored chapel in the centre of Llanwrtyd Wells that hosts live performances and uses technology to connect local and wider audiences. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
