Silverton Alpine Runs
Silverton Alpine Runs are trail events on the Alpine Loop near Silverton, Colorado, held in the San Juan Mountains. The event offers multiple distances on historic jeep roads that pass through ghost mining towns and high alpine terrain.

- 50K
- Marathon (about 26.8 miles)
- 8.4 Mile out-and-back
The 50K and marathon courses follow the Alpine Loop jeep roads and pass through Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks, and Gladstone. The courses reach high elevations around California Pass, with a reported maximum elevation near 12,926 feet. Total elevation gain is listed separately for each distance, with the 50K showing approximately 4,569 feet, the marathon about 3,911 feet, and the 8.4 mile course about 382 feet.
Aid stations are placed along each course and include staffed checkpoints; some stations have mandatory checkout cutoffs. The route is open to recreational vehicle traffic during summer, which can create dusty conditions along portions of the loop. Runners are advised to plan for that environment.
Event services include chip timing, finisher photos, well stocked aid stations, a drop bag area at the start/finish, race shirts (guaranteed for certain registration dates), podium awards and age group awards.
