Event overview
The Silverton Alpine Runs take place Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Silverton, Colorado, with start and finish at Silverton Memorial Park. Distances offered include:
- 50K - 31.8 miles
- Marathon - 26.8 miles
- 8 Miler - 8.4 miles
The marathon and 50K follow a large loop on Alpine Loop jeep roads through the San Juan Mountains. The route passes the historic ghost towns of Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks, and Gladstone and reaches California Pass near 12,930 feet. The town of Silverton is listed at about 9,318 feet elevation.
Course, logistics and amenities
Course information notes total elevation gain and maximum elevation for each distance. Aid stations are provided along the courses and are described as well stocked; some checkpoints are listed as checkpoint-only or no-aid. There is no crew or spectator access at aid stations; crew and spectators may assist only at the start/finish area. Pacers are not allowed for any distance. A designated drop-bag area is available at the start/finish.
Race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration for the event closes on July 12, 2026. Race perks include a soft tri-blend race shirt (when registered by June 12), finisher photo, chip timing, aid stations, finisher awards, age-group awards, and podium awards for the top three men and women.
