Event Details
The Silverton Alpine Runs take place on July 18, 2026, in Silverton, Colorado, within the San Juan Mountains. The start and finish location is Silverton Memorial Park.
Distances
The event offers three distances:
- 50KM (31.8 miles)
- Marathon (26.8 miles)
- 8 Miler (8.4 miles)
Course Features
The 50K and Marathon courses are a loop following historic Alpine Loop jeep roads. They pass through the ghost mining towns of Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks, and Gladstone. The high point is California Pass at 12,930 feet. The 8 Miler is an out-and-back course to Howardsville.
The event is cupless, meaning runners must carry their own container for fluids at aid stations. There is no crew or spectator access at aid stations, and pacers are not allowed for any distance.
Time Limits and Registration
Time limits are 11 hours for the 50K, 10 hours for the Marathon, and 5.5 hours for the 8 Miler. Online registration closes on July 12, 2026. A Mountain Duo Challenge is available for participants who also register for another specific event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
