Event overview
The Silverton Alpine Runs take place Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Silverton, Colorado. Organizers offer three distances:

- Marathon

The event starts and finishes at Silverton Memorial Park on Greene Street. Online registration closes Sunday, July 12 at 11:59 PM MT. Race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. A Mountain Duo option pairs any Silverton Alpine distance with the Kendall Mountain 12-mile race the following day; three duo combinations are available.
Course and logistics
All courses follow sections of the Alpine Loop jeep roads through the San Juan Mountains and pass ghost mining towns including Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks, and Gladstone. Key course stats from the event information: the 50K is listed as 31.8 miles with about 4,569 feet of elevation gain and a maximum elevation near 12,926 feet; the marathon is about 26.8 miles with about 3,911 feet of gain; the 8.4-mile course lists about 382 feet of gain. Aid stations are positioned along the route (examples: Niagara Gulch, Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks, California Pass, Gladstone, Memorial Park). There is no crew or spectator access at on-course aid stations; crew may assist at the start/finish only. Pacers are not allowed for any distance. The course is open to recreational OHV traffic during summer, which can produce dusty conditions. Drop bag storage is available at the start/finish area.
