Hardrock 100

The Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run is a long-distance trail run held in and around Silverton, Colorado. The course is a loop that uses 4WD roads, dirt trails, and cross-country sections through the San Juan Mountain Range.

The official distance is 100 miles. The course records a total elevation change of 66,394 feet, composed of 33,197 feet of climbing and 33,197 feet of descent. The route’s average elevation is 11,186 feet, with a low point at Ouray at 7,680 feet and a high point on Handies Peak at 14,048 feet. All or part of the event is conducted on public lands under special permit from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service.

The event maintains formal entrant and wait lists for each running year. Organizers provide resources such as a course description, runner and volunteer manuals, aid station information, and a pacer-runner matchmaking tool. The event also supports a local memorial scholarship program that in its 26th year awarded $47,000 to graduating high school and continuing education students and has distributed a total of $366,050 across 165 scholarships.
