Hardrock 100

The Hardrock 100 is a 100 mile ultramarathon held on a loop course in the San Juan Mountain Range of southern Colorado. The course uses 4WD roads, dirt trails, and cross country terrain and is based in Silverton, Colorado.

The route covers a total elevation change of 66,882 feet, with 33,441 feet of climb and 33,441 feet of descent. The average elevation along the course is 11,186 feet. The course low point is 7,680 feet at Ouray and the high point is 14,048 feet at Handies Peak. In 2027 the race was scheduled to run in a counterclockwise direction over July 9 to July 11.

Parts of the event are conducted on public lands under special permit from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service. The event materials include course maps, a course description, and manuals for runners and volunteers.

The organizers acknowledge that the land traversed by the race is the ancestral homeland of the Ute, Puebloan and Diné people and invite recognition of the First Nations history and continued presence in the region. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
