Skidola: Telluride's Winter Uphill Race

Skidola is the sixth annual on-snow uphill race hosted by the Telluride Foundation in partnership with the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund. The course runs from the Town of Telluride to the San Sophia Ridge and uses a start area at Gondola Plaza in Telluride, CO 81435. Racers may compete using microspikes, snowshoes, skis, or splitboards with skins.

All participants receive Skidola swag. Prizes are awarded to the top male and female finishers, the best costume, and the middle-place racer. The event is described as family-friendly and welcomes both competitive racers and people who want a recreational experience.

Proceeds benefit the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund and its efforts to expand avalanche education and backcountry user awareness in the San Juan Mountains.

Bib pick up is available at two locations: Jagged Edge (223 E. Colorado Ave, Telluride, CO 81435) on Friday, March 13, and Oak Street Plaza (250 San Juan Ave, Telluride, CO 81435) on the day of the event. Associated activities at Oak Restaurant include a pies-for-PI silent auction, awards in front of the Oak patio, and a torchlight parade in honor of Peter Inglis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
