Kendall Mountain Run - Silverton, Colorado
The Kendall Mountain Run on July 19, 2026 offers two organized distances that start in downtown Silverton and use jeep roads for the climb.
- 12 Mile
- 11K (6.8 miles)
The 12-mile course climbs from about 9,318 feet to approximately 13,060 feet, with roughly 3,960 feet of total ascent and a final 300-foot vertical scramble to the summit of Kendall Mountain. The route reaches a summit point then returns over the backside to rejoin the original line before descending to the finish. The event has a six-hour time limit.
The 11K route is an out-and-back to Deer Park, with about 1,616 feet of gain and a maximum elevation near 10,840 feet. Aid stations are provided along both courses; some locations accept drop bags and there is a designated area at the start/finish for personal items.
Race operations note that the event is cupless and participants must carry their own container for refill at aid stations. Pacers are not allowed and crew access is limited to the start and finish areas. Online registration closes July 12, 2026. The run traces its origins to a local bar bet in 1908 and has been held as an annual event for many years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
