SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge
SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge is a trail half marathon held in the North York Moors National Park on 21 February 2027. The event starts and finishes at Levisham Village Hall and the route passes through the Hole of Horcum, a natural amphitheatre around 400 ft deep and three quarters of a mile wide.
The course covers circa 13.1 miles over forest tracks, ancient pathways and sheep trods, open fields, wooded valleys and expansive moorland. There is a 5 hour time limit. Places are limited to 50 participants and all entrants must be at least 16 years old on the day. Entry fee is £23, no entries are accepted on the day, and transfers are permitted up to one week before the event.
Two checkpoint locations on the course will offer flapjacks, crisps, sweets, water and pop. At the finish there will be tea, coffee, soup and a roll. All finishers receive a bespoke medal commissioned for the event.
Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat or buff and gloves, an emergency bivvy bag, a spare long sleeved insulating top, a charged mobile phone with mapping apps ideally, at least 500 ml of fluid and 120 g of emergency food, a working compass and OS Explorer 27 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map. Participants sign a disclaimer and there may be spot checks; failure to carry mandatory kit will result in withdrawal and barring from future events.
The course will be supported by marshals and flags, entrants receive a GPX route and a master route map will be available at registration. Parking is within the village adjacent to the hall and £1 per car will be collected at registration to be shared between the village hall and the national park. Dogs are allowed on a lead and will start after other participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
