SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge
SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge is a trail half marathon through the North York Moors National Park, starting and finishing at Levisham Village Hall on 21 February 2027. The course is circa 13.1 miles and has a five hour time limit. Places are limited to 50 runners and there are no entries on the day.
The route follows forest tracks, ancient pathways and sheep trods, and crosses open fields, wooded valleys and expansive moorland. Runners pass through the Hole of Horcum, a natural amphitheatre around 400 ft deep and three quarters of a mile wide; legend states the feature was formed by the giant Wade.
There are two checkpoints on course offering flapjacks, crisps, sweets, water and pop. At the finish tea, coffee, soup and a roll will be available. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal. An optional event specific technical T shirt is available for purchase via the event shop.
Each entrant must carry mandatory kit including a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat or buff and gloves, an emergency bivvy bag, a spare long sleeved insulating top, a charged mobile phone with mapping apps, at least 500 ml of fluid and at least 120 g of emergency food, a working compass and OS Explorer 27 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map. Spot checks may be made and non compliant entrants will be withdrawn.
The course will have marshals and some flags; entrants receive a GPX file and a master route map at registration. Transfers are allowed up to one week before the event but refunds are not given. Parking is in Levisham village adjacent to the village hall and a £1 per car charge is collected at registration to be shared between the village hall and the national park. Minimum age is 16. The event is organised by SilverBack Trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
