About the race
Loftus Poultry Run is a festive, multi-terrain running event held in Loftus, Cleveland, just before Christmas. The roughly 7-mile course weaves along quiet country lanes, bridleways, footpaths and muddy fields, with the first half generally uphill and an exhilarating downhill finish. The race is chip-timed, and every finisher receives a bespoke T-shirt, with prizes across age categories and a variety of spot prizes.
The atmosphere is famous for costumes, a brass band, and strong camaraderie, making it one of the friendliest events in the North East calendar. Maximum entries are 400, and there are no on-the-day entries. Registration is online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
