Event overview
The Loftus Poultry Run is scheduled for 21 December 2025 and holds a UKA licence (No. 30049). The race has been held just before Christmas for more than 38 years. It is a chip-timed, multi-terrain event of approximately 7 miles along country lanes, bridleways and footpaths. Entry is capped at 400 places; the event is full on the main entry page and has a waiting list.
Course and logistics
The course is generally ascending for the first half and then runs downhill to the finish. Sturdy trainers or trail shoes are recommended. Every finisher receives a T-shirt. Prizes are awarded for age-category winners and there are spot prizes, including seasonal food prizes; consolation prizes are noted for the last finishers. Numbers are collected on the day and there are no entries on the day.
A rule bans in-ear and over-ear headphones; bone conduction headphones are permitted. Registration is based at Loftus Leisure Centre (TS13 4RS). Parking at the leisure centre is limited; there are two car parks within a short walk and some street parking nearby. Toilets and a limited choice of light refreshments and hot drinks are available.
