Event details
The Loftus Poultry Run is a multi-terrain race held just before Christmas and run for over 38 years. The 2025 edition is licensed by UKA (Licence No: 30049). The event is chip timed and has a maximum field of 400 runners; entries may move to a waiting list once the limit is reached. Every finisher receives a T-shirt. Race numbers are issued at registration and there are no entries on the day.
Course
The route is approximately 7 miles and uses country lanes, bridleways, footpaths and farmer’s fields. The course generally climbs in the first half and then descends to the finish. Sturdy trainers or trail shoes are recommended; fell shoes are not suggested except in heavy snow.
Entries, prizes and facilities
Early-bird and standard entry prices apply with a published price increase after 30 September and again in December. Results are published via the organiser’s partner results service. Prizes are available for age-category winners, with spot prizes and consolation prizes for the last finishers. Registration takes place at Loftus Leisure Centre (TS13 4RS). Parking is available at the leisure centre but is limited; two additional car parks are a short walk from the start and there is street parking nearby. Toilets and a limited choice of light refreshments are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
