SilverBackTrails Oswiu’s Revenge - Half Marathon
SilverBackTrails Oswiu’s Revenge is a trail running event of circa 13.2 miles around the Black Hambleton and Silton Woods area south of Osmotherley. The route runs along forest tracks and ancient trods and offers views of the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York. The course includes a number of technical ascents and descents and varied terrain.
The event has a four hour time limit. Navigation is aided by some flags and marshals, and the route will be shown on a master map issued at registration; a GPX file is sent to participants before the event. There will be one on-course checkpoint providing water, cola and confectionery plus provisions at the finish, with vegetarian and vegan options.
All competitors must be at least 18 years old and entries are limited to 50 participants. Entry is by pre-entry only through SiEntries with no entries on the day. A bespoke finisher medal and certificate are provided to finishers. Participants are required to carry minimum kit including a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat and gloves, a spare thermal top or jacket for emergency use, an emergency bivvy bag, 500 mils of fluid, at least 60 grams of food, a fully charged mobile phone with What3words and OS Locate or OS Maps, a working compass and an OL 26 OS Map or Harvey’s Map of the North Yorkshire Moors.
