SilverBackTrails Oswiu’s Revenge - Half Marathon
SilverBackTrails Oswiu’s Revenge is a trail running event held on 16 May 2027. The route is approximately 13.2 miles and runs around the Black Hambleton and Silton Woods area just south of Osmotherley, offering extensive views across the North Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York.
The course follows forest tracks and ancient trods and includes several technical ascents and descents. Navigation is aided by some flags and marshals; a master map is available at registration and a GPX file will be sent to participants beforehand. A route recce is advised. There is one on-course checkpoint supplying water, cola and confectionery, plus drinks and provisions at the finish; vegetarian and vegan options will be available.
Entries are limited to 50 participants. All entries are via SiEntries; there are strictly no entries on the day. Minimum age is 18 and the entry fee is £25. A four hour time limit applies to finishers.
Participants must carry minimum safety kit including a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless using Paramo, hat and gloves, a spare thermal top or jacket, an emergency bivvy bag, at least 500 ml of fluid and about 60 g of food, a fully charged mobile phone with What3words and OS Locate or OS Maps, a working compass, and an OL 26 OS Map or Harvey’s Map of the North Yorkshire Moors. There is ample parking at the start and a small parking charge will be collected for the National Park. Canine running partners are allowed on a short lead; dog-powered runners start shortly after the main field and have a corresponding adjustment to the time limit.
