Silva Moors Traverse
The Silva Moors Traverse is an 80km ultra-distance running event following Alfred Wainwright’s famous coast-to-coast route from Ingleby Cross to Robin Hood’s Bay in northern England. The course traces the northern edge of the North York Moors National Park and passes through scenic eastern Yorkshire, finishing at the picturesque Robin Hood’s Bay. With approximately 1,600 meters of elevation gain, the route is unmarked but well-established, supported by digital maps and waymarking.
The event emphasizes self-sufficiency and adventure, offering well-stocked support points with food and medical aid. It serves as an accessible yet beautiful ultra challenge and a stepping stone to more demanding races like the Lakes Traverse. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
