Moors Traverse 2026

The Moors Traverse is a point-to-point ultra marathon covering a distance of 80 km. The route follows the eastern section of Alfred Wainwright’s famous coast to coast path, starting in Ingleby Cross and finishing at Robin Hood’s Bay. The event is characterized by an adventurous ethos and emphasizes a culture of self-sufficiency for all participants.

The course tracks the northern edge of the North York Moors National Park before weaving through eastern Yorkshire toward the coast. This event follows the same path as the latter section of the Northern Traverse and is designed as a progression for those interested in long-distance trail running. The route utilizes what is recognized as Britain’s most popular long-distance path.

Participants must be 18 years or older on the day of the event. The traverse offers a scenic journey through diverse terrain, ending at a coastal finish line.
