The Darren Brant Memorial 5-Mile Race
The Darren Brant Memorial 5-Mile Race is an annual running event held at South Park in Darlington. Taking place on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, the event serves as a tribute to Darren’s memory and functions as a fundraiser for Papyrus, a charity focused on the prevention of young suicide.
The race course covers a distance of 5 miles and is situated within the grounds of the park. The terrain is categorized as flat and consists of road and pavement surfaces. This is a licensed competition, and every participant who completes the distance receives a memorial medal.
The event is open to runners aged 15 years and older. The field for this race is limited to a maximum of 150 entrants. Registration is accessible to both affiliated EA athletes and non-affiliated runners. Entries for the 2026 edition remain open until 4th August 2026, or until the participant limit is reached.
