Signal Peak Trail Runs

Signal Peak Trail Runs take place around Bear Valley and Lake Spaulding. The course is an out-and-back with a loop at the east end that summits Signal Peak, offering views of the South Yuba River and the North American River Canyons. The 24 mile option does not summit Signal Peak.

The 50K route includes approximately 5,700 ft of elevation gain. Portions of the course follow Signal Peak OHV Road, which contains very rocky sections; runners with ankle issues should take this into account. The course will be well marked, but course marking sabotage has occurred in the past, so participants are advised to have the course map downloaded to a phone or other GPS device in advance.

Aid stations are positioned along the route at multiple mile points and are stocked with water, electrolytes, sodas, energy gels or chews, salt, bananas, and various other typical snacks. The event is cupless; participants must carry a reusable cup or water bottle. Finishers receive a full-color finisher medal and a post-race meal with a vegan option. Custom event swag is available if ordered during registration, and awards are given to first through third place male and female finishers per distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
