Champion Mine Trail Race
The Champion Mine Trail Race takes place on October 11, 2026 in Nevada City, California, organized by the Sierra TrailBlazers Running Club together with Bear Yuba Land Trust. The event is the second annual running of these trail races and uses trails around Nevada City, with a start on Broad Street and a meeting location at 325 Spring Street.
The event includes multiple distances:
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon
- 10K race and walk
- 3.1 miles 5K run and walk
The course travels through stands of pine, follows sections of the Tribute Trail and Deer Creek, crosses a historic swinging bridge, and includes a newly constructed trail section. The route features a mix of pavement, gravel, and single-track trails, several climbs, multiple aid stations, and historical landmarks along the way.
Registration opens June 1, 2026 and closes September 16, 2026. Published entry fees are $65 for the half marathon and $35 for the 10K and 5K. A training group for the race began with a first session on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Proceeds from the races are designated to support Mines to Pines trail development in Nevada County and to fund a Sierra TrailBlazers scholarship for a graduating senior in the Nevada Joint Union District. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
