About the race
The Shirley May France 10K Road Race is a community road running event in Somerset, Massachusetts, hosted by the Somerset Economic Development Committee and presented by Bank Five - Somerset. The event honors the local legacy of Shirley May France and supports The Cure Starts Now - Somerset chapter, which raises funds for pediatric brain cancer research.
The main course is a scenic loop through the heart of Somerset along historic Riverside Avenue. The route passes Dublin Street, High Street, and South Street, and finishes at Comfort Zone Grille & Bar, where an after-party is scheduled for participants and spectators. The event is designed to highlight nearby local businesses such as Comfort Zone Grille & Bar, BankFive, St. Anne's Credit Union, Somerset Creamery, Auclair’s Market, and Fiesta Mexican Restaurant.
